Greetings!Hail and well met friend! I am Lacka Wolvespride, Tribunal Shaman and member of the guild Giliath Lang on the server Vallon Zek. So, you seek the path of the Tribunal Shaman? Be warned, ours is not the easiest to follow. You will not have the glory of battle like the warrior, the strong damaging magic of the wizard, nor the amazing healing powers of the cleric. We are a well-rounded class full of mystery and spiritualism. We can do many things well, but are most sought out for our ability to call upon the spirits to enhance others. EQshaman has some great guides to
starting a shaman. Go to their site and click on "Guides." They will
give you pointers for creating your shaman, starting out and where to hunt
at different levels. There's even information here on the Iksar,
Ogre or Troll shaman, though why anyone would choose that path is a
mystery. Your spells and what they
do. Shamans are casters of the priest class. Many do not realize this and are
deceived by our nifty armor and fine weapons. Understanding your
magic will make you a vital part in any group. To learn about your
spells, the best site is the Belagar's
Ultimate Guide to Alchemy It will explain all your spells by
level, how much mana is needed to cast and where they can be
obtained. Training your skills.
The shaman has so many areas that need training. The Shaman's Crucible's Skill
Chart lists all of your skills, what they do and what the cap is per
level. Location, location, location! Anyone starting out in Everfrost knows how easy it is to get lost. Understanding the /loc command is the key to survival and corpse retrieval. Be sure to check out this /loc guide to understand how it all works. Return to top
Shamans can wield one and two
hand blunt, piercing and occasionally a one-hand slash weapon. In my
youth I focused on one and two hand blunt for I did a lot of melee.
As I got older, I was less and less involved in the physical battle and
used my magic more. It was then I focused on piercing.
The spears obtained at higher levels can greatly enhance your wisdom and
other stats. I also prefer piercing because it's fast and I can
sometimes interrupt casters by alternating it with slam. I leave the
heavy damage dealing to the tanks and intelligence-based casters. EQ
Shaman lists your choices for weapons and their stats and how they can
be obtained. Click on "weapons" after entering the site. Since you will be doing lots
of healing, player characters and non-player characters generally try to
eliminate you first. Because of this you need to build up your
AC. Shaman are allowed to wear all types of armor except a plate
class. Belgar's
lists your choices for armor including stats, and how it can
be obtained. Click on "Armor Resource Center" once you
enter the site. In your early years, you will be covered mostly in patchwork armor. This can be obtained by taking polar skins to Cindl at Mac's in Halas. She will turn them into random pieces of patchwork. You can also take up tailoring. Buy a small kit and build your skills. You can outfit yourself rather quickly plus make some money selling your skills. As you get older, you can eventually make much sought after products. Killing beasties to level and
loot gets old quick. To break up the monotony, try some
quests. Try Everlore's
guide to quests. Check out Halas and
Everfrost
if you're just starting out. There are many low level quests that can be
done. The EQlizer also has a nice
quest database. It allows you to search by class, level, zone and
item. And if ya still can't find a
quest, try Allakhazam's Quest
Database. Many Shamans quest for their

A skill uniquely our own, our potions can allow non-casters to run at wolf's speed, breath under-water and levitate. You will never make your fortune as an alchemist, but you will make many of your guild-mates and friends happy! The foremost alchemy guide is Belgar's.
